Giving

Our Church of St Mary's Buckland has to independently raise approximately £25,000 per year to maintain it's position.   This includes the salary and employment costs of our part-time Rector - but only for about 1.5 days per week for which she is contracted to St Mary's Buckland!

All the supporting staff, including our Churchwardens, are volunteers.   We give up a contribution of our time, skills and resources.
With limited numbers in our congregation, we must also rely on those in our village community, and those outside the village who attend and value our church, to maintain our church.

There are three way that you can help with financial donations and fundraising:

1 - DIRECT DONATIONS to St Mary's.  There are several donation options:

  • Visit our donation page here, 'Giving to St Marys' (also accessible via QR-scan codes available in Church), with payment choices including Applepay, Googlepay, Open Banking or Credit/Debit card
  • Complete this Donation to St Mary's FORM to Gift Aid a Standing Order for regular monthly giving, or one-off donations
  • Cash or cheque collections in services and church visits, with Yellow Gift Aid envelopes available in church.
This money will be may be used to support the mission of the church, the salary of the Rector or the maintenance and operating costs of the building.

2 - via FRIENDS OF ST MARY's (FOSM), by Standing Order Subscription (£15 per person or £30 per household) or by attending events.   This money will contribute only to maintaining, repairing and operating costs (eg utilities, insurance) of the building and the organ.   Complete the Donation to FOSM FORM here.

3 - via the CHURCHYARD & CHURCH FABRIC FUND (CCFF), by donation and attending events.   This money will contribute to maintaining the churchyard in good condition (grass mowing, tree surgery, boundary repairs, etc).
Complete the Donation to CCFF FORM here.

In addition, each of the three options above would be grateful for any legacy arrangements that you may wish make, whereby your Executor(s) give an donation from your estate on your death.

On the sub-menu, you will see the Giving to St Mary's Page, and more details of FOSM and CCFF.
